Ambient LED light strip on the dash

Post by zdenek_kalok »

Hi people

I have the Polo SE model.

I really like how the SEL and the R-Line have the ambient white LED light strip on the dash and the doors.

Any way i could do this to my car?

Is there any kit on the market, something that looks neat without any wires hanging around.

Cheers.

And you can dim or increase the intensity of the ambient lighting strip :)

Is it colour changing, like my Mini was?
Really miss that.

Quite undecided about that feature.
Looks nice but I like a dim cabin when driving at night.
Shame it's not in the GTI.
I assume you can disable it?

Not in the GTI? Its supposed to be according to the price list.

It most certainly is in the GTI, and is dimmable/adjustable in the lighting settings menu.

Fancy that.
If it can be subtle, which it sounds as though it can be from the responses here, I might quite like it.
Looks OK in the pics above.

No good, I'll give it a miss.
White was the least used colour in my Mini, blue being the favourite.

Other colours could be distracting at night. But when i am driving it's not too noticeable or interfere at all.

And yes you can dim or turn it off. :)

I guess for show/fun colour options would have been interesting,

I have seen some review about the polo being very plastic(hard plastic) inside. Those peopl ehave not test driven similar priced range Hyundai/mazda/Kia ranges that are just the same(usually worse) without the nicer looking features.

I saw a video about the US Jetta GLI.
You can adjust the colour of the ambient light in that.

There's already a myriad of colours in the car at night.
