Making my Mk 6 polo tsi sound better

Post by aston.barringer »

I am new to cars really and I was wondering how I could make my car sound louder/deeper, because I thought about buying another exhaust but the current one is downwards facing and sort of blocked off by some panelling on the back, so I’m kinda stuck for ideas, can anyone help?

You could install a Kufatec sound booster if that’s your thing. https://www.sound-booster.com/

Remember it's a three cylinder engine.
This means it inherently has an odd engine note, some people like the sound of three cylinder engines, some hate it.
Making the exhaust louder will just exacerbate the odd note and you may not like the result if you're comparing it with 4 cylinder engines.

Full exhaust and downpipe was the way i went to get the deeper sound, and it gave me 15kw before I did my remap, here is a link to the sound of the car if you want to hear what it sounds like. The exhaust manufacturer I used cut the bumper for me as you mentioned because the bumper would block a straight exhaust.

Like you I also went full exhaust. Except mine didn't include a downpipe. I went with fox and it sounds great, it's still working in but has a lovely growl and pops every now and then

Have you done this? Based off the site I’m interested in this for my GTI+ but would want to understand install cost and the end sound.

Not personally, it's not my thing, and I quite like the sound of my '18 GTI+ as standard. :)
