Why a jack when no spare wheel?
Curious as to why VW would give me a jack when there's no spare wheel...?
I'm tempted to just shove it in the garage, as it's completely unnecessary weight and bangs around the wheel well.
I can't imagine VW are thinking owners will change their own brake pads, I'm sure that's not encouraged, so what's the reason for it?

Sure you weren't meant to get a spare wheel? Do you just have a bottle of gunk?Andy Beats wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 1:21 pm Curious as to why VW would give me a jack when there's no spare wheel...?

I thought all Polos got a spare wheel (optional on Ibiza?)
My GTI+ has a space saver.
Or is it a beats thing? Sub in the boot?
I would not use the flimsy Jack for anything but changing a wheel.

Yeah it's a beats things, they say because of the sub in boot you don't get a spare wheel.monkeyhanger wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 2:17 pmSure you weren't meant to get a spare wheel? Re: Why a jack when no spare wheel?
I cringed 2 weeks ago, when in Cramlington hospital car park, I saw some clown working under his car (Fiesta) with the wheel changing Jack holding it up above his chest and face, while he was pulling at a rubber gaiter on the steering set up.
At least it would be a 30 yard dash from the hospital to get to him if it collapsed.

I'm happy enough with the tin of gunk, I'm not bothered about the lack of spare.
Just seems odd to still have the jack.
I'll ditch it in the garage, cheers all.

No it is not. I have gti with beats and space saver donut with jack and other tools. With Beats you can't use variable boot floor but that is all. Sub take space on top of that metal on left side of spare I will take a photo in morningR15KXK wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 2:21 pmYeah it's a beats things, they say because of the sub in boot you don't get a spare wheel.monkeyhanger wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 2:17 pmSure you weren't meant to get a spare wheel? The Ibiza apparently gets a spare included with the Beats setup, at least when you could get it in the UK!

Re: Why a jack when no spare wheel?
What is the box in the middle strapped down? It looks like a battery but might be the inflator and foam kit?
Sub woofer looks a very neat installation.

Re: Why a jack when no spare wheel?
Mine is just a circular piece of foam in the middle of the wheel well, containing the foam etc.
A lot of wasted space, it does look like a wheel would fit in no problem.
Not that I want a wheel, I'm fine with the foam.
