@stuartfacer highly likely mate. My dealer is really helpful but I won’t ask her for any details again for a few days. Hopefully by then we’ll get a 5C text anyway!

I had received my 5c text message at 8:00am on Saturday. I managed to find the ship taking and delivering my car to Grimsby port on Saturday. I've still not received my text message about it arriving in the UK or be updated on the app.

I think I am getting more and more impatient knowing it's so close!

Great news. I’m still waiting at 5b so must be at the back of the queue here! Typical

It's a pain! They did a programme '24/7 Big Brother' in the UK. Why can't they do a programme 24/7 car tracking.

Update for anybody who's car is at a UK port.

I contacted my dealership and requested an update on my cars progress.

He confirmed that today the car is at a UK Port. The approximate time from the UK port and collection day is (AT THE VERY MOST) 10th September all things considered. Nonetheless, if the car is moved quickly through the UK port it could take 7-10 days. However, with COVID-19 (hate this word) being in the mix of things, they are advised to say that it could be delayed to 2 weeks but this isn't the case all the time.

UK PORT TO COLLECTION DAY -> 7-10 days (quick process)
UK PORT TO COLLECTION DAY WITH EFFECT OF COVID-19 --> 2 weeks at the very most.

I had an email from my dealership this morning with the list of registrations to pick from and they said the handover specialist would be in contact this afternoon to book a date. She called and booked, then around half an hour later she called me back to say that my car is still at the UK port so can’t book the collection day yet. They confirmed that it would be a September delivery so hopefully in the next week or two I will have picked it up [emoji2]

If it's 7-10 days how do you arrive at 10th Sept? I'd say you're looking at 7th latest

Feeling everyone’s pain, still stuck on 5b myself since last Monday. Can’t see any ships scheduled for Grimsby yet unfortunately

For those whose cars are at Grimsby or Sheerness, will storm Francis with winds of 70 mph or more predicted over the next couple of days, impact the delivery of cars to dealers? I’d assume that car transporters won’t be out on the roads delivering cars to dealerships in winds of that strength, in which case it might add a couple of days onto delivery times.

He said the 10th the very latest. If things go to plan and move pretty quickly it could be between a week or 10 days.

Feeling it mate.
Malacca Highway just left Emden for Sheerness.
City of Rotterdam looks to be doing an Audi run.

So yep, at the moment can’t see any obvious runs to Grimsby until one of those comes back.
Feeling a little unlucky!

Stage 7 this morning so my car is definitely at the dealers, not long now!

FYI for those with theirs at Grimsby, it's taken 5 calendar days for mine to go from stage 6 to stage 7, but then I am picking up from Lincoln so not the longest journey

That’s brilliant news and thanks for the info. Just had my stage 6 text message today. I’ve got myself into a situation myself in regards to having already booked a weekend away without actually having the car yet. I’ve booked it for 11-13th September whilst needing the car for the weekend, however, the dealership advised me it could be the very latest 10th September to pick up the car. If you’re saying it’s 5 days from stage 6 to stage 7 then that’s brilliant!

It’s my birthday on the 31st so I hope it’s close!

A step closer...

Had a call this morning from the dealership. Turns out my car is due to be sited on the 2nd and ready to be collected on the 4th.

The long wait is may be coming to an end!

Excellent news! Not a bad birthday present - in just over a week you will be a GTI driver... 8)
