External Exhaust Sound
External Exhaust Sound
Do the different driving modes effect any of the external sound from the car or is just whether or not the gearbox is in normal or sport? Had my brother do me some quick fly bys in my 2018 GTI+ and the pops and bangs and DSG pops on the gear change sounded louder when in the cars actual sport mode as apposed to the normal mode with gearbox pulled back into sport. Unsure if this was in my head and a bit of a placebo haha!

Re: External Exhaust Sound
The modes doesn't effect the exhaust.
If you are in sport mode it does naturally take some more revs, which will make more exhaust sound.
But the same can be done in comfort if you floor it. If anything you've heard the Sound Aktor which does make artificial sound.

Re: External Exhaust Sound
I have had the sound actuator turned off and I definitely hear a sound difference in the different modes although not a big difference it is much bassier in sport especially in urban areas or covered forests where the sound echos however I have only done 180miles in my new car due to picking it like 5 hours before Boris announced a shut down
Re: External Exhaust Sound
Is there no resonator-delete mod for these yet?
I had it done on my old S3 and RS3 and the sound difference was very impressive.
It will be something I will be looking into when we are allowed out to play again

Goodness only knows when I’ll get it now.
Can’t wait to go through all the options on suspension, steering etc

It's a bitter sweet situation for myself. It's on my drive glimmering away but I can't use it. Managed to sneak a quick drive in it today just to get out and its clocked just over 200 miles now.sc-red wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 6:54 pmLucky you, I was meant to be like 5 hours after.stuartrendall wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 11:58 am I have had the sound actuator turned off and I definitely hear a sound difference in the different modes although not a big difference it is much bassier in sport especially in urban areas or covered forests where the sound echos however I have only done 180miles in my new car due to picking it like 5 hours before Boris announced a shut down

As far as I am aware there are many resonator-delete options out there. My plan is to get a full Milltek GPF/OPF back exhaust.

Hi
When i wish to hear bit of the DSG farts. I roll All Windows Down.
I put the car in Eco-Mode, Change to Manual Mode. Hard on the accelerator! ,change gear on the gear lever at 3000rpm or 4000rpm.

Have you got any videos? I am trying to figure out what will be the best option for myself. Still leaning towards a non-res GPF back milltek setup.
