I hear some knocking the whole time. That is probably injectors but at 0:10 to 0:14 is hearable some other knocking I have never heard from mine. I have no idea what that is. Ask somebody to rev you engine and lisen with bonet open. Maybe you can find source of it.

First time I listened to the video. The sound only seems to be happening on acceleration, not when you take your foit off the accelerator and the revs drop. Are we sure it's not a mild misfire? The knocks seem quite rapid like around 8 times a second over a short span of the rev range. Dodgy coil pack maybe?

Might be worth taking someone out to a dark place (minimal light pollution), popping the bonnet , popping the engine cover off and watching for flashing around the coil packs or HT leads.

Well

Hooked up with a guy nearby who has a GPF fitted gti, 20.000km.

His engine sounds just like mine.
Guess thats how they should sound.

Blimey I hope they don’t all sound like that! Doesn’t seem right to me. Anyone else with GPF get this?

I have a 2019 GPF model, done 2,000 miles and car is 5 months old. Mine makes a similar noise but not all the time, can also be heard at idle from inside the cabin and under acceleration while driving.

Was going to book it in once the world returns to a sort of normality as I’m pretty sure the demo car I drove before I bought the car didn’t sound like that.

I’ll try and get a video today of it
