Small fan running after switching engine off
Anyone noticed a small fan running after switching the engine off on the 1ltr engine. It definitely not the coolant fan it’s not that noisy.

Same thing happens with the GTI. Think it stops after around 5 minutes.

When I had a peogeot on there engines there is a pump pumping coolant around the turbo to cool it down after you turn the engine off wonder if it’s a same kind of thing with the VW engines.

It’ll be an auxiliary electric pump running that’s used for cooling down the turbo. Normal and nothing to worry about.
