GTI engine remap/tuning box

Post by The Random Dan »

Has anyone had their GTI remapped?

What company did you use?

What power increases did you get and how does it compare to standard, does it drive better aswell as being faster?

Also I’d read somewhere about needed to get the DSG recalibrated after a remap to prevent wrecking the clutches, is this true?

Not had one done myself but there seem to be a lot of people on a few Facebook pages who have done a stage 1 and got 250bhp / 321 torque. Think that was with JBS Tuning.

Someone on there claims to have got 540bhp from the Polo GTI, which seems like madness to me.

50bhp increase seems alot for stage 1! And don’t they have 320 torque as standard?

Yeah was thinking the same! Thought 30ish would be standard after a stage 1.

270 HP, 450 Nm. DSG also remapped (shorter shifting time, later shifting in D, earlier in S). Great improvement (see attachments). In stock version, nothing much happens after 4000 rpm. Now it keeps going; 100-200 time goes down from 20+ to 14,5 sec
The 0-100 measurement was from another similar remapped car

I think in the simplest terms that most people can imagine, if you up your power and torque by 20% to get to around 240ps and 400ps (as most tuners are doing), the car will pull in 6th like stock does in 4th. Now imagine how that translates down the gears.

Messaged a few tuners in wales this week most tell me that you get 50 BHP gains and a big increase in torque! One gave me a quote for £160 for the map and £30 for the DSG update all are custom maps 😁
