Android auto wireless retrofit

Post by MattHGR »

Hi all,
There's currently an Indiegogo project for a wireless android auto dongle.
This will allow you to have your android phone wirelessly project to the car instead of tethered with a cable.

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/aawi ... pdates/all

I have backed this project and will keep you up to date with how things go (could be Feb before I get delivery).

One question. Does anyone know what MIB version our Polo generation has ? Mine is 2019 if that helps at all.
They've already tested MIB 2 but I have a feeling we might be 2.5 or 3

Thanks,
Matt

Thanks for the quick response!

Also, does anyone know if the polo cuts power to these usb ports after ignition off ?

I'll want to leave this box in 24/7 wherever possible, so want to ensure I'm not draining power all the time.

One way to find out is stick your phone on charge and see if it is still charging after you turn ignition off and withdraw key.
