Most likely a 62KWh Leaf.
Don't need the range compared with the 40KWh, but 210bhp as opposed to 150bhp appeals.

Very happy to hear that you enjoying your new ride, that DSG is awesome. Just wish the centre console arm rest had adjustable heigths :P

The Polo performed admirably on my once a fortnight commute this morning - 32miles, 80mph almost all the way down and 44mpg. Amazing - presumably the GPF is completely empty as it's done 2 x 64 mile round trips in a row and not been used in between. Last journey tomorrow, to Prestige Performance Yorkshire in Selby.

Probably not for you, but on HUKDs right now, there's a post for 110kW(150ps)/40kWh battery Leaf Tekna lease for a net £217pm over 36 months.

The GTI is surprisingly good on those long journeys.

I went to London last weekend, 360 mile round trip with 4 people in the car. Averaged 46mpg. Cost roughly £56 in fuel all together.

It is when the GPF is clear - I usually get 39mpg for tgat journey. Had 46mpg Newcastle to York before,, doing 80mph. Stuck to 70 on the way back and got 53mpg.

Right spec, Tekna is the only one worth bothering with.
I could be tempted to put up with the 40KWH for £100 a month less than the Gti.

Jeez, that's not a trip I'd fancy making in the Gti, way too noisy

Compared to an EV or a Range Rover Evoque it’s likely to be noisier, but IMO not excessively so. I don’t find my GTI+ excessively noisy and wouldn’t have an issue using it for a 360 round trip. I did some longer runs in my previous GTI, including an airport run which was a 300 - 320 mile round trip and didn’t find it noisy or tiring.

Yeah in all fairness it was a bit noisy but when you've got music on and chatting it's not something that you notice.

It's all relative, of course, but I do find it a noisy wee car - especially on tyre roar.
Not helped by the 18" wheels on mine, of course.
Can't blame the Bridgestones either, as I'm running Goodyears at the moment.

Polo's gone and I'm killing time in York to get the train to to Gloucester to pick up ID3 number 2.

110 miles to drop off this morning, doing 80mph almost all the way and it averaged 47.3mpg!

Jealous of the MPG.
Not jealous of living somewhere flat.

This thing is conspiring against me.....
This weekend, for the first time in many years, I've got a damaged alloy.
I remember the bump I went over and remember going "ouch ya bugger", but didn't think it was that bad.
So me selling the car would mean getting this and scratches in the back door fixed now.
The damn thing wants to stay with me for some reason,.

(won't allow me to attach a photo).

Am I doing something wrong as I get about 35mpg on the motorway :|
