Still trying to get used to the braking on my Polo SE

Post by grazuncle2 »

I'm loving everything (99.5%) about this new (to me) 2019 Polo in comparison with the Polo 9N3 it replaced.. Chalk and cheese doesn't cut it!

However, much to my embarrassment and discomfort of any passenger I can't feel the brake bite point via through the pedal.. unlike the last Polo where you can feel resistance progressively very easily. I'm thinking the return spring on the old Polo was weaker and now I'm thinking I'm feeling brake resistance when all it is is the strength of the return spring!

At first i was sailing on past my braking point and then snatching at the brakes .. now obviously later than anticipated and now I'm trying to learn foot position as you do when operating the clutch and finding the bite like muscle memory. It's not happening as quick as I had hoped.

The return spring strength seems to mask actual braking somewhere in the travel unless floored it of course...

Just a peeve...
