Help with rims

Post by J+silva »

I have the polo comfort-line and I want to change the rims, I found some of the gti polo but in the measurements the only difference , gti is 7,5J/17 ET51 and the comfort-line is 7J/17 ET51. Is there any problem mounting these rims? Thanks in advance for the help.

I've seen a few Polo's here in ZAR with 18" GTI rims, doubt there will be an issue fitting them to yours.

Genuine VW 17” alloys for the current model (AW) Polo GTI (known as Parker’s in the UK and Milton Keynes in many other markets) should fit no problem. I have 7.5J x 18” ET51 alloys on my GTI+ and that’s the standard size for the optional 18” alloys on the GTI. No fitment issues.

According to the calculator on www.willtheyfit.com, with a 7.5J x 17” ET51 alloy, the inner face will be 6.4 mm closer to the suspension strut and the outer face will protrude outwards 6.4 mm compared to your existing 7J x17” ET51 wheels. Again thanks for all the help, I have a 185/60/R15 and with 215/R17 the car will be more secure and with better look, and after that change just missing a reprogramming.
