Because it's me that will have issues if the finance company find out I'm going against their T+C, not the dealer.Stuart_Rendall wrote: ↑Mon Jul 26, 2021 11:44 pm
It was PCP, and if the dealer doesn't care then why should you?

Response from VWFS received at 10:26 today:
Thank you for contacting Volkswagen Financial Services.
The agreement holder must be the main driver.
So, if in your name, you will be the main driver and you should be the main driver.
You would be wholly responsible for the finance agreement.
Any additional drivers, such as your daughter, could only be a named driver for the vehicle.
However, taking out a finance agreement in your name for the purpose of another is illegal. This is called fronting.
Kind regards

Andy it seems like you’re only choice would be to be a guarantor for your daughter and her name goes on the pcp. I presume they still do that?

Has she even tried to go for the credit check herself? Car finance is incredibly easy to obtain - they really want your business and its much less risk than an unsecured loan.
I think the guarantor route (if possible) would lead to a huge APR %.

Possibly monkeyhanger, but when I did that the APR didn’t change. However we are talking about 12 years ago!

We're going down that route, VWFS do say credit on their PCP starts at 18YO and I dare say it's a good way of building brand loyalty.monkeyhanger wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 2:00 pm Has she even tried to go for the credit check herself?
Not nice to think how many people out there have been deceived by ignorant or uncaring dealers and are unknowingly doing it the illegal way though.
No-one may ever find out, but very unpleasant if they do (settle in full or hand car back).

It’s not a bad spec for the money. My wife has one.Andy Beats wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 5:29 pm That's her sorted and soon to be the proud owner of a 'United' model 95Tsi

I'm amazed you went for another 95TSI, seeing as you seemed to hate the one you had - very tall gearing, poor economy etc.

How easy is it to swap heated seats and cruise control from a 'United' to a 'Gti'

I would imagine it will be expensive and tedious to complete, and also require some expert knowledge. Maybe Scotty_boy vwAndy Beats wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 9:52 am How easy is it to swap heated seats and cruise control from a 'United' to a 'Gti'
would be a good port of call.

It was just a joke to demonstrate how poor the spec of the GTi is, compared with a United.Stuart_Rendall wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 10:41 amI would imagine it will be expensive and tedious to complete, and also require some expert knowledge.
