Don't know. When you disable ASR, it should work. I did it once, but never again. Didn't feel very healthy, so much force (270 HP in my case).

Has to be in sport mode and traction control off from memory. Foot on the brake then apply throttle and it should hold it. Wouldn’t recommend it in anything other than dry weather though as it’ll just spin the tyres in the wet.

Best "feeling" LC mode is:
- Sport mode
- Keep holding down the ASR down till it says "Sport".

If you leave it to "off", you will get so much wheelspin on the standard "eco" tyres.
Place one foot on the brake, floor the throttle and "Launch Control Program Active" should apper in the dash.

Now release the brake and off you go.
So next time you sit in mcdrive, you're ready for that next window in no time lol.

Fun fact, you can see how many times you have used LC with VCDS.

Stay safe 8)

Something I have yet to test myself. Just feels so wrong dumping all that power in one go even though the vehicle was "desgined" to do so.

I’ve not used launch control either. Doubt that I will.

Can't help but wonder if that would really affect the resale price of the vehicle.

Let's say a prospective buyer is looking at two second hand GTI models, similar year/milage etc. and asks the dealer "Has either vehicle ever used Launch Control and if so, how many times?" The information is availabe but guess it depends if the dealer is willing to share or not/take the time to find out.

It is for this very reason I only buy new because one never really knows a second hand vehicle history.

I never used it when I had my gti as I never saw the need, the car was bloody quick off the line without it and I never for a second believe the claim it was 6.7 to 62mph. It was quicker than that and I think grand tour and carwow both showed it from memory.

Never used it once since I got the car. When I collected the salesman showed me how to activate it, revved it up but never launched. 18" tyres are expensive yo
