No spark won't start

Hi

I wonder if anyone can point me in the next direction to isolate the issue I'm currently having

2002 9N polo 1.2 with a AZQ engine

Drove perfectly
Parked up and left for about a week and now won't start
Turns over but not even a cough
Fuel OK
Compression OK
No Spark
I've replaced the all the coils with known good ones but still no spark

Car has been scanned with a fully licensed VCDS and no faults are logged

Anyone with any idea where to go next ?
Thanks in advance

Camshaft Position Sensor could give a no spark condition, though I would expect a DTC.

I had a similar issue which flummoxed the AA guy, my trusted mechanic and his trusted auto electrician.

In the end, I had to have the ECU repaired, and all in all it came to £600ish.

Nightmare.

@ Walton,

Who repaired your ECU?

BBA Reman I think is the name of one of these places that will test, if okay charge a fee and return it, if faulty they will fix it and return it and it will have the same coding as it did when you removed it, so just plug in and go - if that was the fault.

Edit:- I was always under the impression that in this exact situation, it is normally the static timing that has slipped when the car was next spun over due to the chain jumping a tooth or three? Has the static timing been checked, okay compression should normally start to drop off but maybe not too much before starting is impossible due to static timing issues?
