Clutch or turbo?

Post by hartge »

Hi guys
I have a 9N 100bhp Polo with nearly 170k on it. I think it must still be on original running gear. When you put your foot down the revs go abit made and rise really fast like then wheels have no traction, is this the clutch on its way out?
Only just started doing it recently, sometimes ok and other times it happens when going through the gears 2-3-4
any ideas? if it is the clutch what else can be changed at the time?

Thanks

Sounds like the clutch

You can look at replacing the flywheel but it’s generally unnecessary. If it’s a dual mass flywheel it’s worth replacing at this mileage

The full Valeo kit is good

If you are getting no heavy vibration I’d probably just replace the clutch. Go for the Sachs kit

Be sure to only buy it from somewhere known. Theres plenty of fake clutches out there made from recycled material.

I would buy absolutely nothing from Doctor Car. They are renowned for selling grey market and copy stock. That’s how they do it so cheap

Euro or GSF for this in my opinion
