On a 1.2 9n can the top engine mount near the suspension mount bottom out and cause a knock? I ask as I am trying to fine a knock that is there and the mount when I lift the engine slightly all comes up as if its not attached and now wondering if the centre bolt has sunk enough to bottom out against the body chassis.
The knock is there on straights or bends and I cant make it do the noise by rocking the car and it seems OK going over ramps for example, its just here on say shallow pot holes. There's no knock when decelerating or accelerating.
So frustrating and considering putting it in to a garage to find.
Any advice appreciated
Cheers
Andrew

Re: Bottoming out?
If the engine mount assembly fails, yes it can cause a knocking. Its a beast to change though so probably best tasked to a good independent specialist.
