I've never found it to be unfriendly and I've been here for a while, maybe 12 years!

Which/where have you found a better and more useful VW Polo forum?

Edit:- if you are basing your experiences on the one other thread you started, I did not respond as it sounded like you didn't really know too much about what you were trying to do, and giving accurate advice to someone that does not sound like they know in general much about working on cars, can be very dangerous and I for one tend to avoid falling into that trap.

I'm not knocking your possible lack of car knowledge, I'm just saying that maybe you are not up to doing that work right now, dropping that subframe brings with it lots of possible problems with car suspension alignment, and without being able to sort that out, helping you would just have left you in a mess - possibly.
