Hi All
This is driving me nuts. I have a subtle knock coming from the drivers side (RHD) and its only there when the suspension is floating. When I say floating I mean, it wont make the knock when going over bumps or dropping, its when the road surface is slightly uneven and feels loose.
I replaced the tied rod arm and the track rod end and since then it has had an MOT with no advisories.
You really notice it when you drive over cobbles
Can I rule out drive shaft as there is no slop when moving back and forth?
Must try and identify this problem at the weekend
Any suggestions greatly appreciated
Cheers, Andrew

Re: Drivers side knocking front suspension
Had a chance to look at the knocking and it seems to be transmitting through both of the track control arms. One of which I have replaced but when you hold onto the rod and someone moves the steering wheel slightly, you can feel play.
Could this be rectified by adjusting the steering rack preload? If so, is it easy to get to?
Also driving the car at say 70mph I can feel very slightly shimmering on the steering wheel
Any advice appreciated as this knock is a real pain to drive with, although not loud, you can hear and feel it low down over uneven road surfaces
Thank you
Andrew
