STRESS!!!! about a door! PLEASE HELP!! 6N? or 6N2??

Post by laura_fairy_22 »

Please HELP!!!
Ok, so I'm sure some of you know about my car getting broke into, and to repair it i need a new door. SO!
I called up every scrappy in the Yellow Pages, only to be told they didnt have my door.
I searched the web for hours, sending numerous emails. eventually got a reply saying YES! Specified EXACLTY what i wanted.... 2001 (6N2) Y Reg, 3 door car, passenger door required. colour- not fussed, as it'll get a respray. So... after coming home from hospital after 4 days, the door arrived monday, i check it to double check its the right model etc. BUT!! low and behold i open it up and notice a few things that arent right.
The Interior, the door handle (inside and out, i thought that all of the 6n2 exterior handles were metal, this ones plastic tack), the door pin on the inside, and that funky green cloth. SO! I need your help!!
From the pictures.... is it 6n? or 6n2?

i think even the shade of green is wrong.... thought the 6n2 green was quite deep/dark??
even the style of the "pleather" is wrong??
i know that the different models (like 16v, GTi, 8v) have different interiors, but i dont think this is right...

ps. sorry about size of piccys!!

Judging by the exterior handle it's a mk4 (6N) door

But presumably the interior door trim doesn't matter because your old one will fit, surely?

Do you still have your rubstrips on the sides? They'll be different to what's on the door..

I think the front door is the same size anyway, for a 3 or 5 door

EDIT: ahh crap, I think this is a 6N also, door seems diff. somehow :?

The handles tho on 6n2s are plastic not metal, but that is a 6n door.

i may be up for that... depends if they send me the right one on monday. they are sending yet another door and collecting the wrong one. however if this is still the wrong one i may have to get some more info from you..
i was gunna claim on insurance, but it works out cheaper in the long wrong to pay outta my own pocket, if i do claim, when i renew my insurance will be 1100 if i dont it'll only be 500. stuff sucks. especially when its not ur fault.
