I think I'm Jinxed

Post by Josh_PoloGTi »

Took my car to the dealers yesterday for some warranty work...

New DRIVERS-side Seat Base
Rubber thingy under the gear leaver
"S" Contact on Ignition failed
Intermittent Immobiliser Fault
Check Fault-Codes and Check "Readiness Codes"

They had it all day and did the following:

Replaced PASSENGER Seat Base
Replaced Rubber thingy.

The flaming passenger side seat base was replaced only last year!

************

Took it to have the 4 side windows re-tinted as there were small bubbles under the tints.

Came to pick it up and they've done 3 out of the 4 windows, but then run out of tinting film, so I've got to go back in 2 weeks time to get the last window re-tinted

:(

Dealerships. What can you do?

What caused the seat base failure btw? Both my seats have some 'play' in them, meaning they're not exactly solid anymore.

Mine are kinda squeaky - I'll have to do something with the interior anyway.

Can't believe how soon the tint is due for a refit?!

The tints have been bubblisious since they were done.

I found out why today.

When they did it, they were also making a boot build out of MDF for another customer, and the MDF Dust (very fine) got under my tint.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Josh, seems that you aren't having much luck...

Sounds like these VW dealerships aren't that great at customer servicing...did you take it to the one in Sheffield?

Yeah, my warranty is covering the seat bases.

By the way, I am very impressed with Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 tyres... I have 2 on the front (still have almost brand new Toyos on the rear) and I think I've found my perfect combo*.

Sticky as you like at the rear (to stop the tail coming out - like "The Bear")...
Hi-tech at the front for precision steering etc.

* It will be the perfect combo if the Goodyears last longer than the 3 months my Toyos lasted on the front!
