My Girlfriends MK2 Polo Coupe S, Kinda...

Post by polog40racer »

Got the Girlfriend's Polo revamped again... (YES THE BUMPER SITS WIERD, NEED TO SORT IT AT WEEKEND  )

G40 engine running standard 113bhp (with cup car exhaust) at moment, goes to 150bhp next month once she's got used to the extra increase in power.

Still nif naf and trivia to do on it yet to get it looking nicer but it'll be sorted before Mod Nationals.

Enjoy...

 Yeah cool. Wasn't sure if any Polo peeps may be going. Going down with my girlfriend's car club, British Mods. Taking a 7man tent, if you gotta camp, then do it in luxury. Its got room for the Polo to be parked in it at night!

I was breaking my G40 Cup Race car, my missus saw the exhaust (aswell as the rollcage) and wanted it.

With the G, it has a nice purr, and its a good noise. Its a custom built one, single rear silencer, no middle silencer, straight thru, no baffles.

Thanks :D

Taken some work, but its getting there. Had it all apart yesterday, fixed the wonky front bumper, it was just the bumper cross member twisted.

We took it all off, and Jibber (my missus) rubbed down all any surface rust marks from the welds and also general rust bubbles at the front end, re zinc primered and painted her up again, also did the grille spoiler and slam panel again aswell. On the look out for another single headlamp grille now, or a debadged one.

Did abit of porting aswell, ported out the G40 inlet manifold and throttle body and dewedged it. Dont see a point in putting on a larger GT inlet as its not having big power mods and dont want to lose that initial torque. Then painted up the inlet manifold, although the TB still has to be painted cos of the time we had it all back together (1am).

Getting the charger scroll serviced with new bearings and seals in it, then putting it in a 'special' ported charger of my own creation and chip and pullying her (with G60 greens aswell) and remove the crappy boost return.

Gotta wire up the gauges yet (oil pressure, oil temp and boost (lighting)) and put the bonnet pins in, then start on the mk1 golf front arches. Got a month to get them welded up, fillered and painted.

Its getting there. :P
