i'm thinking of getting it done begining of 2004 one question tho has anyone who has had the handle out had any trouble with opeing the tailgate and whats the best option of opening the tailgate, an internal switct or solenoids?

i have a special motor made for opening the rear

it cost about 100 € or less, depends where you get it...

You simply plug it to a 12V cable...(from the battery or from any device). Instal the button anywhere you like (mine is in on of the small rectangle beside the defrost button).

Mine is probably not well fixed or ajusted 'cause I'm having trouble opening the boot...but my friends are not having problem...there's also one using these king of motor to open his door (got rid of the handles...)

if you want I can take pics of the motor in the rear (this will give me a chance to ajust it correctly....)...

thanks j-o and blackgti they do look smoother with the big vw badge taken off and the handle out.

Wouldn't mind a bit of that!!

Is that the Rieger Extremo kit you got?

It's the Lumma bodykit (www.lumma-tuning.de), but maybe Rieger sale it under the name of Extremo...I don't know...actually, Rieger is saling Seidl and Lumma bodykit....
