whats involved fitting a mk3 gt steering damper on a mk2?

are the holes already there?? any extra bolts needed or anything

will the inlet have to come off

I've never actually done one on a car that had an engine in :lol:

I'd guess, if it was on a lift, you could get up the back of the block to do it. Have a look at my project thread here and you should be able to see from the pics how it's done. I actually decided to swap the nearside bracket, rather than using a nut, but you can do it either way. All you really need is:

Damper
Nearside bracket
Any immediate bolts, there's only the one to the bracket you need, but grab em all anyway just in case you lose one.

Did an offside trackrod on my mk2 the other day, and all I did was unbolt the air filter housing and push it across. It was doable from the top, and not too tricky. If you've got a good mental picture of what you need to be doing, I'd have thought it's possible to add a steering damper having done that and got the offside road wheel off.
