Tim needless to say it just looks ACE...I'm sure it looks even better in flesh.

Can I pass by Maidstone sometime to have a look at it ... IIRC you're nearby??

Change those 10mm spacers for 6mm ones to stop it from catching
De-lock the driver door handle
Maybe paint the calipers Red, not sure yet though
Maybe see what a Leon Cupra R splitter looks like under the front, not sure if the dimensions are similar enough for it to fit though :?
you off to the gti international? would be good to get some shots with you!

I'm doing the calipers too once I can be bothered - but they'll be black, I think red isn't the way with the dub styles..... but each to their own! would be interested to see the results.

do you notice much difference with the bigger wheels in acceleration? I'm sure on the motorway it's a bit worse, but otherwise ok.
Yeah, im not too sure on the red either. I just have some left over from when I did the ones on my golf. That looked ok but my car was deep blue. Im undecided really, which is why i've left it for now!

Not noticed acceleration really TBH, I do have to drive slower though coz the roads are rubbish where I drive!

Not sure on Inters yet, not looked at it yet TBH! Always go to Edition 38 though, might do the club stand thing if we have one 8)

Thanks mate. It was some of your pics that motivated me to fit the votex kit to mine.

Your quite welcome to track me down to have a look, but Im always on the move at the moment! Not too far from Maidstone when im in kent, trouble is im not there all the time!! Finish uni in 4 weeks so maybe over the summer!

Know what that's like, fitted 17"s to my 9n sport yesterday and now I feel every bump/imperfection in the road, was hoping coilovers would impove the ride quality?

Some expensive coilovers like KW might give you a similar ride (obviously will handle better than standard) but you certainly wont get a more comfy one fitting stiffer uprated suspension!

Since I changed the wheel arch liner slightly I don't have to slow down for the bumpy stuff. Not as low as Tim's car at the back but the KWs certainly seem just as supple as the stock suspension on the potholes and bumps. Clearly I don't fly over the really bumpy stuff though!

The standard sports suppension seems to give a really harsh ride, the car park at work has those stupid rubber speed bumps  and even going really slowly over those it makes a thud, will be even worse with these new wheels/tyres :(

(n00b)Would the better shock absorbers in a decent set of coilovers not "absorb" the shock better??(/n00b) :P

Did you remove the two screws at the front-top of the arch liner (slightly in front of the top of the wheel)? This is where mine catches, I have removed the screws but it still catches the plastic arch? Is this where you altered it?

If you think, the standard shocks are set to be used as an everyday sports family hatch, so the shocks are relatively still quite soft and comfy, compared to a sports car. With uprated shocks they do exactly that, 'up' the damping rate to a stiffer level to stop the springs moving & bouncing so much and therefore make the car roll less in corners.

Coilovers are really designed for the track, where its smooth!

Saying that, if you do change shocks make sure you get adjustable ones so you can adjust from soft to hard, at least gives you some playability.

I took the screw out, then folded the tab back as much as I could and cut a tiny bit of liner away, then tucked this behind the metal tab

no rubbing at all over the last two weeks, and it's low at the front 8)

I found the standard sports suspension does tend to crash a little over small bumps, the KWs are no worse, in fact I don't notice much difference even with the 17s on.

I think the FKs probably offer more cornering speed but more harshness in the ride, from what I've heard.

Yeah. Id agree with this. After having KW's on my Golf and FK's on the polo I d say the FKs are a bumpier ride overall. They are good in the twisties, as long as the roads smooth!

Have you got the variant 2 Kw's Daivid Or the V1's?
