Fitted some new goodies.....

Post by Silva_B!tch_Owner »

Just in time for my birthday TODAY, heh. Been sitting on alot of my mods for awhile, mainly due to work and not having much time, but managed to get through a few things last night. The BMC still needs tidying up as it's not bolted on yet and need to sort out the breather pipes so they look tidy, might buy a new one as I think we cut that one a bit too short? Also fitted my Hella rear lights with the LED's, the front splitter and fixed my passenger side wing mirror as the mirror clips where broken. also got some nice new boosch aero wipers. For those that don't have a BMC you NEED to get one, the car growls like a beast now lol.

See pics.

Shall be cleaning the engine bay this weekend hopefully if I have some spare time, got a few more mods to come in the near future.

Any advice on the BMC would be appeciated? As I'm not too sure if it's been fitted properly.

Also noticed that once I've fitted the BMC filter the EPC light hasn't come back on AT ALL since. As I had problems with the EPC light before, even after replacing the break switch and a few other things, but now the car seems to be fine, pulls well through the revs unlike before where it was juddering etc.

advice would be:

either get another bit of hose to join to it or buy a full new cold air feed hose

take out the original cold air feed which you have it connected to (really easy)

and put the hose right to the wing...

you think it growls now? you aint heard nothin yet :P

Thought the pipe looked a bit short haha, will fix it soon as I get time and clean the horribly dirty engine bay.

Also had the OMP Strut brace already fitted when I brought the car.

I'm loving the growling noise!

To get the best from the BMC, as loud says above you ideally need to remove all of the stock intake, and have just one unrestricted air feed running from the wing.

Basically, you need this: http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... hp?t=27451 oh and I'd suggest maybe some jubilee clips on your existing air feed :)

That cold air feed won't last long as it isn't secured to the original feed. Where did you get your breather filter, it looks neat compared to the big bulky Pipercross one

I've got a K&N air filter, but would a BMC be better? The growl I get from my K&N is awesome. Im running a straight pipe from the bottom of my passenger fog light straight up to my throttle body. It's half below the splitter and you can't see it but also there's loads of cold air going through it. Just wondering thats all. Cheers
