VR6 Brakes ?

Post by sorted »

Hello

I'm on the look for some g60 carriers, a set of VR6 carriers, discs and pads (all brand new) have popped up at the back of a mates garage - he says i can have them basically.

What i wanted to try find out is - are they going to fit the polo (poss the same as the g60 ones ?)

Anyone any ideas ?

em, no. If its from an early vr6 running 280mm disc (or passat vr6) then yes, it will fit. If its a later vr6 they ran 288mm discs thus they wont fit. Unless you can get some 5 bolt 288mm discs re-drilled to 4 bolt that is.

How early would the Golf need to be mate?

Can't you just measure disc diameter with tape measure or something ?

And another thing if there 5 stud discs, you'll no there no good without adaptors as there off later model

Or re-drilled holes (But may work out cheaper getting the 4 stud 280mm discs from a local motor factors)

But i'd think the carriers might still be ok.... :)

Plus another thing what size of wheels you running ?

As for 280mm discs i think you'll need wheels of 15" and above

Good luck :D
