Trying it on

Post by Mouse_GTI »

Just wondering how much bother everyone gets from other motorists in their GTI's? I've had a lot of Golfs been trying it on lately, usually when I'm just driving home normally!

I get loads of people who seem to take a dislike to being overtaken by a furby.

The number of times i overtake someone normally only to see them suddenly put their foot down to get straight past again!!!

Sad strange little people.

Cheers

Dave.

I've only noticed that this happens when driving around 11-1am. Most other times, I don't tend to be bothered around.

oddly enough a few days ago some guy in a RED POLO GTI!! was behind me. i see him in my mirror and smirk.

the road then splits into 2 lanes and he shoots past me and starts weaving in + out of other traffic making himself look silly.. all along im just driving along at 25-30mph with a smirk on my face being the BIGGER man with no intention of racing. 2 reasons

1 - hes faster
2 - my cars better looking 8) and he knows it

LOL at least you aint stupid. unlike some people out there. i only play around on big roads when i get the urge and play with cars the same power band and i know when to stop. i hate it when the tw*t your racing decids to weave in and out trying to get away.

I used to get it too and still do sometimes, with a few fuds in Saxos, Fiesta ST150's, Mk4 Golfs funnally enough and Focus ST 170's etc

They must think the Polo i had was a 1.4 etc and same with clio i have now.

Who's trying it on like ?

Any Aberdeen Cars ?

I usually show people I've got the power to keep up with them (on motorways and stuff, if I know I can beat them anyway) but usually just let them go for it in other areas.

I need my licence too much :D

Yes i get this ALL the time... Only thing the people trying it on dont know is that although it may look like a 1.4 or smaller engine polo, thanks to the conversion i have the power to match.

Oh i love the look on half the peoples faces.

Most the time i love revving slightly at lights when someone next to me is trying it on only to move away nice and slowly watching them either wheelspin or make an arse of it 8)

Also had a girl in an ST150 playing catch up lol. I don't encourage racing. I do like surprising people at how nippy my little Polo is though at time to time :D

I whooped an st150 quite recently, was good fun.

In all fairness, since i'v had the GTI i'v not exactly been shy in encouraging others to have a cheeky blast with me.

I'm not stupid and i'm not the type to weave in and out traffic, if i feel its safe to give it some beans then i will. I like showing people up, i just suppose its the type of ego or attitude i have.

I dont bother with em when Im in my Polo...

Its when Im in my Vivaro works van that I go chasing after them!!!

Only kidding, there's no point in losing your license to show off to some chavvy bastid.
If you've only just started driving and you try a daft overtaking move without noticing a parked up Pig then you could lose your license for speeding and driving without due care and attention.
If you ignore them, one day they'll end up getting fcuked over by the pigs and you can smirk at them as you're passing.
