I hate my aerial!

as the standard aerial looks unsightly where it is, i want to get a small chrome or black one (the smaller the better) to fill its place.

Does anyone know where to get one from?

i would like to remove the aerial itself and put it on the roof but i dont trust myself doing that and i dont know how much it would cost me to get someone else to do it for me.

the trouble with changing the aeriel on the mk3 is the angle at which it sits, but its not that difficult to put one in the roof, the akward but it getting the headlining off and sticking it back. there is a guied on the http://www.clubpolo.co.uk website
but I ended up sticking mine back with superglue and holding it in place with clothes pegs.

the only thing is to drill the hole quite close to the back or you hit a roof support like I did

my aerial is a wing mounted arial. when u are not using the radio, the aerial is down, but when u turn the radio on, the aerial goes up! looks pritty groovy n stops people bending it or braking it off, or chaving it!

that sounds good. how much did that cost? i take it the aerial only comes up when its the radio and not the CD player?

well my ofiginal ariel was in the wing, but the previous owner wired it so thats it could go up and down as required, because at hight speed it used to flap about. I think electric ariels normally go on and off when the head unit does, but I might be wrong

mine usually goes up when the power to the head unit is on, but now and then it'll get confused and go down when the tape player is turned on! wierd!

could you fit a 16v style one on the top of the wing, then it'd be at an angle with the a pillar ?
