Coming to the end.... smoothing!

Post by sorted »

Hello,

So..you get the bumpers smoothed, the boot, and the bumpstrips on the side and finally the front wings.... so what is actually left on the small scale side of smoothing?

Things I can think of are,

1. The Ariel
2. The two panels underneath the rear lights (between bumper and light)
3. Smooth the splitter in
4. The HID washers

What else would anyone smooth that on the small side of smoothing that will make a little diffrence?

Don't get your splitter smoothed into your bumper.

Reason being is, if you hit your car going over a bumper you'll end up paying to get the bumper and splitter done instead of just the splitter.

What Silky just said... my cars pretty damn low as far as 6n2's go and my splitter is DESTROYED! Its not even straight, i love silky's carbon splitter but to spend that much on a splitter and smash it is just too much of a risk for me.. same thing applies to your bumper! You'll crack the entire thing!

I've often wondered what it would be like to have the boot smoothed into the rear of the car. It would take some guts...

I vote for the roof.

Yeh like said before don't get the splitter done, it does look good (Tom had it done on his) but you'll most definitely be going back to get it fixed at some point.

Roofrails aren't OTT I don't think. They're a good call, something you wouldn't notice gone if you weren't an avid 6N2 fan, which is the whole point of doing it.

Don't get the spoiler done, I did a photoshop of it years ago and it didn't look good.

Headlamp washers are a fair call, down to personal oppinion though I guess. I think it makes the car look more modern and top of the line. Notice all the top vags have them. I think it's one of distinguishing features.

Be carefull if getting the panels under the rear lights done. They are very likely to crack again, if not smoothed using a welded on plate before hand.

Aerial is a good call.

Rear bumper recess may look good, if you put the palte back in the same position after. You'd struggle for plate lights that don't look silly however.
