1.4 MPI REMAP

Post by vw55raz »

Just bought another polo which is a 1.4 mpi and ive seen that it is very slow compared to my 1.4 TDI so i was wondering if anyone has got theirs remapped? Tried looking at loads of places and they dont seem to do the mpi, only the 16v.

Anyone recommend a place?

Thanks

you could get it remapped but there wouldn't be any point you might get 2-6bhp extra out of it but thats it and for like 200-300 quid not worth it really is it

I got 7bhp extra on my 16v with a induction kit, raceland manifold, sport cat and powerflow exhaust ... so if yours is standard i am guessin you would get about 3hp or 4 if your lucky. Waste of money not worth it.

I got 76bhp out of my 1.4 standard 6n with BMC Airfilter and cold air feed. Got the graph to prove it too.

Got nothing else other than the BMC and a cold air feed going under the bumper and through the 6n 16v front bumper grill. Its a 1.4 8v 6n with 60bhp as standard.

Well i got a reply today from angel tuning and they said they can get me extra 8bhp. so that would make mine 68bhp plus stainless steel manifold should give extra 10 - 20 % lets say thats 72bhp plus a BMC air filter should boost to like at least 75 :D

I think that's a bit ambitious, but would like to be proved wrong!

yeah as soon as i sell my other polo, im gonna get the remap and bmc straight away, and then next month get the stainless steel manifold. One question though, do i just need the manifold pipe to be stainless steel, or the whole exhaust system?

I'd get stainless throughout. I'd also leave the remap til you've got the exhaust done. Would make more sense.
