Re: yellow 6n2 progress thread :)
lol they dont call them "bumpers" for nothing
When you smooth the bumpers it does weaken them so you have to be extra careful.
I had mine smoothed early last year but I had to get the back bumper re-done 6 months later because my car rolled back into my dads car overnight. (Dodgy handbrake). It was only a 40cm roll but that was enough to crack one of the seams on the bumper.
It cost me £110 to get re-done which was a right pain

the DIY spraying of the caps turned out horrible!! even with the primer sprayed before, the yellow spray did not grip at all and kept slipping off!!
will clean them again and have them properly sprayed apart from the oil cap that I am thinking of replacing with this alloy one (but black not blue) if they ship to malta : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 1299wt_939
Re: yellow 6n2 progress thread :)
OK so I now managed to break the mirror cover when going down the basement!!
just after wasting my time spraying them black!!

Re: yellow 6n2 progress thread :)
yeah will have to, hope it does not cost much! and when I am there I will ask them about the gti splitter as well
Re: yellow 6n2 progress thread :)
so mirror has been fixed. the splitter is a little expensive for now. I had a look at these wheels what do you think?? would need a refurbish for sure, sprayed black. but they are 14" !! would they look small?

Re: yellow 6n2 progress thread :)
i really really... REALLY... dont like them lol !
Re: yellow 6n2 progress thread :)
hehe I actually wasn't so sure about them. I think I might go for something 15". would 16" be a little too much for a 1.0l engine to push around?

Re: yellow 6n2 progress thread :)
as long as there not gonna be like 16" replicas of something you should be fine
"replicas are so much heavier"
the gti comes with 16"
i have an idea for something ive never seen done with rims on a 6n2 but its getting hold of what i want
thats all i will say on my idea

Re: yellow 6n2 progress thread :)
so I'll have a look around maybe I find a decent set, most probably 15"so not to go to little on the profile cos of the potholes!! good that I haven't changed the tires yesterday, would have been a waste of money. talking about tires, anyone has heard about Interstate tires or Barum?
Re: yellow 6n2 progress thread :)
6N2 GTI's come with 15" wheels although the 16" versions are a very common modification.red6n2 wrote:as long as there not gonna be like 16" replicas of something you should be fine

Im not really a fan of those wheels to be honest dude,i don't think they would suit the car at all.Keep on the hunt though
