Talking of a bummer of 6points in two years us brits have it easier than some others considering, though you could argue the point that it's quite hard to pass a driving test here than anywhere else.

3 points for doing 36mph... isn't there a child rapist somewhere that could be being arrested instead?
I cruised all the way home from wales down the A5 today rarely passing 62mph, but was still well over the limit in some places where it was safe to do so (mostly overtaking, a couple times doing it in barren 40mph areas). and happily enough pulling across to the left on wider sections or straights to let others overtake. (would have been going quicker myself but for the boominess - and wanted to have windows open)
now there's the cameras in cats eyes and the mile-off super lensed things, which seem to be being introduced by the transport authority with one side of their mouth as they say with the other side that its not so serious a crime and penalties are being reduced (well... altered. whys it down to a minimum of 2 points (vs 6 max), not 1? what gets you 1 point anyway??)
ragh.

@ GroovyCarrot - as far as i no there isnt a ban if you get caught speeding twice (depending on the case tho) you just lose your license & have to start from scratch.
@ LOW PHAT SPREAD - jst try n take it easy!! tho itll prob last a week then ull go back to "normal driving"
Ive no idea how i manage to keep a clean license!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!

there's my (new driver) mate who got done twice for 42(ish) in a 30 - just come out of a 60 limit and was slowing down. on the same road on the same day! he was a bit livid about that. wrote off to the dvla and explained his situation (NEEDED the car for his uni project and had no other way of getting the required transport). apparently all he had to do was retake the test - he's still got 6 points, but licensed. and super paranoid as you might expect.
as a homemade sticker in the back of a local car - 9 POINTS PLEASE PASS.... very few people stick to the limit, and least of all on motorways. drive 70mph? get overtaken. wtf.
(and does anyone seem to know what the NSL on single carriageway roads is anymore? do they jack)
