Nice Update Verity :) looking good

Not too sure on the headrests but its nice to see something new and different.

Have you got any pictures of your exhaust? noticed your running a twin pipe Jetex system (de-catted 8) )
Just wanted to see if you had any more close up pics of the actual back box and rear pics of the car.

I've got a twin 3" Mongoose cat-back system on mine but th backbox is beginning to annoy me now because its far too big.

Cheers

I love it if im honest (tho it looks a HELL of a lot better when its cleaned and polished)
the sound produced is spot on. and i think its about the right size.

Cheers Verity :D really appreciate it

Looks very similar to mine the only difference being my backbox hangs down alot further which causes nightmare parking issues :( . Yours look like twin 3"tail pipes too 8)

I can have mine raised slightly but I will need to cut the bumper to do that which i'm not very keen on doing.
Do you know how much the Jetex system cost? because I might consider replacing mine

Cheers :)

That actually looks really good... any pictures further away from the car? I've always been put off by exhausts incase they look blatantly aftermarket but that one looks really well

As you can see although mine has similar size tail pipes the backbox is far bigger which is a right pain in the neck.
Mine also has a good refined note and isnt too loud at all, its worn in nicely too so sounds sweet but its just not practical for day to day driving because of the clearance.

Note - My car is park on a the garage driveway there hence it looking lower on the one side :)

im not to keen on cutting bumpers either. have thought about it as an option before. but i much prefer it tucked just underneath.
i cant remeber off the top of my head the cost. i just checked my service folder but the reciepts not in there. will have to ask my boyfriend later.

I will try and get some. we have some builders at my house atm so im hiding away, and i think theyll take the mickey out of me. but i will deff get some later (specially as its all cleaned up, polished and sparkly now lol)

thank you. im not much for exhausts if im honest i find it easy to take the p*ss out of a lot of other exhausts. but i am very biased and like it. haha

it looks good! shame about the scrapage! mines pretty much alright. I live in a hilly area full of roads that go almost virtical at some points.
my drive is annoying it sort of curves in the middle. if i have someone sat in the back i have to drive far to the left where the path dips slightly (or make them get out and walk up the drive  ) if u look closely u can see a slight scrape mark on the bottom of the box where i learnt that the hard way

Well i went an jinxed myself didnt I!?! All this talk about my exhaust

went out with boyfriend to get orande juice. (random i know)
He goes 'Ill turn the car around'
i go in the shop. buy the juice. step out the store to see the car out the front
'hmm the exhuast looks weird' i think to myself.
and on closer inspection

WHAM
Image

get in the car, to be greated by puppy dog eyes and a very sincere 'im sorry'

Turns out High Curbs and Low Cars dont mix well.
Its Typical He drives all these expsensive Brand new VWs every day, without any fault at all.
then he does that lol

Image

I know he'll get me a new one.
and that it was an accident so im not at all annoyed with him.
I just hate the thought that people will see the car. see me, a girl behind the wheel and go 'ah see- typical women driver'

Image

(again the exhaust is looking filth. again appalled by dirtiness)

Bad Luck Verity :(

Its probably going to happen to me next so I might as well prepare myself lol
Hopefully you can get it repaired soon or replace it.

I'm sure that could be repaired by an engineering firm but it would obviously need to be removed from the car first.

Let us know how you get on

Gave the Car its last clean of 2010. was in serious need of a good cleaning. took about 45mins just to defrost the hose but it was worth it

01.01.11 - Bad Start to a New Year

Spotted this Saturday.

Im so behond peeved off. I avoid parking in car parks. or near other cars to avoid car door dinks, as im fully aware of no one having any respect for anyone elses property. And yet it still happens to me! Nice and deep. one you can see at all angles. argh!
The only place I could have got it is out the back of work.
I want to think that everyone I work with is careful enough to have not done it, or to at least own up to doing it.
The only thing I can think of really is Pikeys. sounds bad to blame them. but we are always catching them out the back rummaging thru the skips for scrap metal, old car batteries, and stock they can return.

To try and make myself feel a bit better I've ordered a few bits and bobs for the GTI from VW. should have it by the end of the week. Just in time for GTIs Birthday

Thats sucks Verity. Its so annoying when other people mess your stuff up. They just couldn't give a sh*t!

Also loving the car. Also interested in your exhaust. Really like the look of it. How does it sound etc?

cheers, Matt

Sorry to hear about the ding verity, that really sucks.

I get a bit paranoid when parking these days because there are so many careless people in the world.
Some silly cow opened her door into my Polo when I was sitting inside the car, she parked literally about 3 inches away and smacked the door right into mine. Due to her being so close it didnt really do much damage but I was still fuming.

Dent sucks, some people really annoy me, no respect for other peoples property.

A paintless dent removal specialist should be able to sort that.

Thank you Matt, The sound is great. i feel big headed saying it but I really love it.
Since Jack went and curbed it Ive been contemplating getting a hidden exhaust. but it obviously wouldnt be the same, and i would really miss the sound it produces.

Lol I always want that to happen whilst im in the car, just so I can have a go and make sure that they are extra careful for the rest of their lives...thing is I know I never would as im to shy.

absolutely! i work in a retail park and often see it happening in the customer car park, youll even see them check the edge of their own doors just to make sure theres no damage, but couldnt care less for the other persons car.
There's a chap at my local VW who does it in his spare time, like a little business on the side, or something like that, so Ill probably get him todo it for me.
something extra I just didnt need to spend money on :( damnnabbit!

Dents suck!! I paid like 300-400 quid 9 months ago to make the car dent free. I have about 3 more now due to negligence and inconsideration from other drivers. Pisses me off so much. So many people just see cars as a form of A to B and don't care about theirs and adopt the same approach to other peoples cars. Your lucky you don't live next door to an Italian who thinks bumpers are there for parking assistance.
