Out of interest, does yours seem to go to a default time if you leave it too long? I did this last year sometime, and anything over 30seconds pause it just forgets, and seems to go to a default 5second (ish) timer.

Just wondering if it's a dodgy relay or if they're all like it.

Thanks.

To adjust the time gap, you pull the wiper down to intermittent, then turn the wiper back to the OFF position, wait for the time period you want and then pull the wiper back down to intermittent.

Its as easy as that :)

Just waiting for the relay to arrive, seems silly they didn't put that in the car in the first place,

Yeah does seem strange surely everyone with a mk5 GTI or not will agree that the slow setting is way too slow And the first setting on the quicker speeds is often annoyingly too quick for the pathetic English drizzle we so often get it just seems like it's a simple solution to a great inconvenience and it's something vw already had

Agreed! VW really did pick a really annoying time delay!
I hate using my wipers.

and it really bugs me when its drizzling and you see cars with their wipers of full speed...i dunno why
