I got this car for the wife just over a year ago with the idea of keeping it for a fair few years, so I spent AGES searching for the cleanest best spec'd example I could find, in the end I travelled the 400+ mile round trip to north of Newcastle for this beauty! It has had 2 previous owners before me, the first owner was a company directors wife, he ordered the car on their company car scheme for her, and ticked every option in the book!! Climate control, Cruise, Winter pack with heated seats!! you wont find a polo with more on it! We have both remote flip keys, the full hand book, all documents etc,
The spec is:
Nov 2005 9n3 Sport
1.9 TDi 100bhp engine - only 66k on the clock,
Optional extra Full automatic climate control - (not to be confused with normal air con that most other polos come with, this is digital climate control like you get on Audis etc, you set the desired temp and it automatically alters which vents the air comes out of to keep the cabin at that set temp, this is a rare optional extra on a polo! but once you have had climate control you wont want to go back to normal basic air con!)
Optional extra Cruise Control - another rare optional extra you wont find on a polo! again once you have had it you wont want a car with out it!
Optional extra Full winter pack - again rare to find another polo with this fitted! winter pack consists of heated seats, head light washer jets, and heated windscreen washer jets - very useful in winter along with the heated seats!
Optional extra Storage pack - Covered storage box in the dash - lower models just have an un covered tray - and large slide out bins under the front seats.
Sports seats - Standard polo seats are a bit flat, the sports ones are nicely shaped to provide a bit extra support, and they have to be the best seats I have ever sat it! I thought my old Audi ones were good but these are un real! Nottingham to Devon non stop and I got out the other end as fresh as a daisy!
Leather sports steering wheel - same as the GTi the sports get the chunkier leather bound steering wheel
Sports grills - the standard Polo grills looks a bit boring, The wife’s has the optional honey comb grills fitted which really finish off the car,
All round disc brakes - lower models of Polo have drum brakes at the back, the sports get discs al round, and it shows, this thing will stand on its nose if needed! (especially since I have fitted new OE discs and pads al round in the last 5000 miles,
Parrot hands free kit fitted (with out screwing into the dash so if it is removed there will be no marks or holes!)
There is tax on the car until March 2013 (only £115 for the year), and the MOT is due 29th Oct 2012 (it will fly though its next MOT! the car wants for nothing!)
I am a firm believer preventative maintenance! my job is a type approval engineer, where I deal with the testing of OE vehicles, components and after market components before they are allowed to be legally sold, and in my spare time I look after and service a lot of my family and friends vehicles, a vast number of which are VAG cars... because of this since owning the car I have replaced the following parts, all are genuine VW parts with receipts for everything from TPS (VW's trade outlet who sell to garages and dealers etc)
The service book is fully up to date and stamped too (I have my own professional stamp for my garage, I look after a fair few cars, and I have a mechanical and automotive engineering degree, so car maintenance is a doddle as a weekend hobby for me)
15/06/2011
- New OE wiper blades all round,
- New OE discs and pads front and back
08/10/2011
- Storage box on the top of the dash replaced due to the lid mech becoming sticky (lower models just have a open tray, with no lid)
12/10/2012
- full service, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, 5/30 VAG PD oil, new sump plug, + inlet manifold and EGR valve removed and both cleaned out due to the build up of gunk that all modern diesels get due to exhaust gas recirculation they have to lower emissions.
01/03/2012
- new OE clutch, dual mass fly wheel, and release bearing fitted by Autotechnic in Nottingham - The ONLY garage I will trust my cars with for the jobs I can't or wont do (I have done a clutch before on one of my other cars and it was a pain, hence sending it to Autotechnic, plus they are round the corner from the wife’s work, and will run her to the office and pick her up when it is done!)
10/06/2012
-Suspension top mounts front and rear changed, inc new bearings at the front, as always genuine VAG items from TPS, They didn't need doing but the wife said she head a noise, I went out couldn't hear anything, but got the parts any way... when I changed them the old ones were fine! but hey ho, since then she hasn't heard any other noises so who knows!
headlight bulbs!
Total cost spent on parts in the last year (trade cost not retail and no fitting costs apart from the clutch) is £858.10!!! There is also a wedge of paper work from before we got the car, as with it being a company car from new it went back to the dealer for EVERYTHING! even little things like new headlight bulbs!
The car has been lowered on JOM coilover too, these are one of the only sets which have the correct axle weights for a TDI, most are for the petrol cars and don’t go high enough for a TDi car! these have only been on for 6month and 3000 miles, It is also fitted with genuine Polo Dune 17" alloys, fitted with very good Toyo tyres, no cheap rubbish here! and in the garage I also have a set of polished TT comp alloys which I got with the idea of having powder coated in what ever colour the wife wanted for her summer wheels, but at the moment these are still in their polished form and just need a bit of elbow grease over a weekend to bring them back to a mirror finish, I would be willing to let these go with the car for the right price.
I also have the OE Sport suspension and alloys to put the car back to standard if wanted, it only takes an afternoon to change it back.
This has been a brilliant car! it always does mega MPG! Motor way runs its 55 - 60mpg all day long, more if you keep the speed down to 60mph, and around town it still in the 50 - 60 mark, going to my folks 6 miles down the road I have seen just shy of 80mpg! if it had 5 doors it wouldn't be going any where!
as for price, £7000 as it is with the coil overs, dune alloys, and the spare OE wheels (with tyres) and oe suspension too,
of if you want it as it rolled out the factory I will let it go for £6500
for more information or to view the car please either drop me a PM, an email to beastieboys1981(at)hotmail.com, or call 079205 (zero) 6220, the car is located in Nottingham, 5 mins from junc 25 of the M1,
