My splitter is actually covered in red carbon, but in the picture it looks like paint!

You are indeed Brad

In any case a little update

I fitted LEDs all round - namely number plate lights, interior lamp, boot lamp and sidelights for under a fiver! In the process of doing so, I managed to knock the back of the drivers headlight and smash the leveller clip which seems to break on all the polos and often render headlights to the grave. I was in discussions with a guy to billet then out of aluminium, which he has now done and they are pretty damn good. Though I couldnt wait, so got one of these:

And my drill and file out and got to work on making a new one. Needless to say it was a great idea for replacement and worked a treat. For anyone interested its an 8mm hole, with a 5mm groove cut into the 8mm hole, then a countersunk hole on the back to screw into the headlight.

The passenger side window motor failed, then the drivers side jammed. So i proceeded to replace the pass side, and unjam the drivers. Put it all back together to find 30 mins later it had locked up again!! So had to take it all off again and replace the motor on the drivers side too! What a palava

Ive added a few little touches to the exterior - ill get a photo up later

Managed to source a brand new set of rear mudflaps, and currently in the process of sorting some front ones out, though as im currently running 50 profile tyres, I cant fit the flaps on as the gap is too small and itll cause the mudflaps to rub :(

Also double braced the front exhaust bracket as sadly itd rusted away and someone had made a feeble attempt with mild steel jubilee clips to fix it. Changed them for two marine grade stainless steel ones - needless to say its never coming apart now!!

I also managed to strip one of the engine mount bolts when replacing the left engine hydromount. They are fixed into cast alloy, so not very strong at all after a few times of removing and refitting. Picked up a helicoil kit on ebay for under a tenner, and its worked a treat. If anything, the helicoil thats in there is stronger than the original fixing. Its certainly not going to strip any time soon

I've just done this too! Did you find the paint on the rear ones had flaked off/lifted a lot?

The rears were awful. This is mainly due to the fact the rear calipers on newer dubs are cast aluminium as opposed to steel on the fronts 8)

You're probably the best person to ask Mr Perkins as i know you've done this a few times.

On a G60 brake upgrade i have got some Carriers ready but was wondering what discs and pads you recommend?.Can i buy regular G60 Pads and discs?.I guessing the discs need to be 22mm think rather than 25mm?.
