Polo 9N to 9N3 front end

Post by cooz93 »

So guys, I'm wanting to do the 9N to 9N3 conversion. I've done my research and I think I know what I need, just want to double check. I've had a look at the purple 9N that done it, Chris or something his name is? But just need to confirm what I'll need. Obviously lights, bonnet, wings and am I correct in thinking the two parts pictured are the correct things to get? They are for the 9n3..
Any advice would be great!! Cheers in advance

I was looking to do this to my old 9n. I thought that it was mechanically sound and running well so whats the point of changing to an actual 9n3. However, I messaged Chris - scragg9n off clubpolo and he replied with this:

The conversion cost me a grand in total. You need a new slam panel which is basically the front end of your cars structure. Head lights obviously need changing and I don't think it'll be necessary to change your rad but you may need to modify it to attach to your new slam panel. You also need to cut your inner wings so the lights will fit, you'll see were when you come to fit them.

I got scared away when he said it'd cost a £1000 to do it! Though, I did post a link for the full front end of a 9n3, found when browsing ebay.

Ye I've priced up all the parts, and a fiends painting them so I'm managing to do it for £800. The only reason I'm doing it is I hate the 9N front! And can't afford to buy a 9N3 so decided I'd do the conversion! Hoping to begin collecting parts over the next few weeks so will keep this updated!

Is the tailgate a direct swap? I thought they were a different shape? Also plan in changing the taillights once the front is done:)
