Car does look awesome now! Drop it a little and it'll be a stunner, I think you should change the GTI grill to chrome or change the SEL grill to red so they match! Look abit odd.

Hopefully if all goes well I should be looking at ordering them this month or next, then just need to get someone to fit them
Re: New Member - New Polo: 3dr reflex silver
That was my problem as well! Don't really fancy doing them myself!

franko247g,
Can you please share the ET (offset) of your new wheels?
Aren't the TT RS wheels 5x112? Probably you got the A1 (which are 5x100), but the ET from those ones are wrong for the Polo...
Thanks for your help!
Cheers!

I believe your righty from what I've read they're 17s and I've read the ttrs are 18s and above so may be a1 :/ I've got the receipt in the glove box so ill have a check for you tomo they may be reps possibly. If I'm honest I just went looked at the wheels liked them and said put them on haha
when they gave the receipt they said TTRS wheels so I just went off that. I'm happy with them tho think its a big improvement from stock! Will update offset tomo fella

Nice looking car, like it in silver.
You've been through some problems with it though haven't you?

In for its first service tomorrow, spoke to the guy about coding it and fitting my lowering springs he said £180 quid to fit the springs or cheaper for cash
so I'm going to see what magic he can work with the coding and see if he will do it at same time as service.
Re: New Member - New Polo: 3dr reflex silver

I got the auto lock and unlock, also got them to disable the two push unlocking as it was annoying, I've seen some modules on eBay that you plug in to the OBD port and codes in something so the windows close automatically as soon as you lock the car without having to hold the lock button down!

Just had its service got the guy to do some coding to it, they set up:
Auto locking @ 10mph
Unlock on key removal
Two push unlock
Audible lock and unlock - (didn't like this as I looked a pleb at sainsburys beeping at everyone, if I'd kept it I'd be beeping four times just to let my mrs in - took it back and the guy took the audible ones off)
Really happy with it, having something new makes it a new toy again haha. Can't wait for my springs though!!!

Well I'm gutted now to say the least after a quick call to vw insurance
The girl I spoke to spoke to the underwriting dept and they have refused me to have 17inch wheels on my car and said that if they are fitted my insurance is invalid as the free insurance only covers the in modified car. I mentioned lowering springs and they said that's fine if its supplied and fitted by vw, I've requested a formal letter explaining their reasons.
It's a massive ball ache because she said if it was a paid policy it would be different but they wouldn't even negotiate an increased excess or me putting money towards it :/ have had to put the stock wheels back on as not to invalidate the policy.
I specifically asked the dealer about adding 17inch wheels and the insurance and he said it would be fine as they do 17inch as an option. Still vw said no to me my choice either cancel the policy loose the ncb and go somewhere else or just wait until sept when the policy finishes anyway.
Anybody managed to get vw free insurance to allow after market wheels?
Any help or comments are welcome
Cheers

That's a shame buddy, I was under the impression that you didn't have to notify insurers as long as they were within two inches of the original.
