Have you had that done? I have heard that it's not possible on the Polo.

In VCDS Select Control Module, go to 03 ABS Brakes, then 10 Adaptation, go to Channel:

Channel 09 Brake Assist
There are 3 settings for this
0-center (stock setting)
1-small
2-hard

Channel 36 XDS
There are 3 settings
0-center (stock setting)
1-weak
2-strong

Big Digital Speedo

Guide

Go to 17-Instruments and look under Coding, then (IIRC) on the first page, there is a drop down list of countries (it will currently be set as UK) change it to Australia, this is all you need VCDS for.

Then on the car's maxidot go to:

MFD

SETTINGS
Units,
"Consu/distance" change this back to mpg (GB), mi (as it defaults to 1/100km, km),

then

SETTINGS
"MFD data" and make sure the box for Digit.speed is ticked

then

SETTINGS
and unticked the "ALT.speed dis." box (this will remove the KPH speed and replace it with the outside temp display)

I know. But Watcher activated this in his Polo and it still didn't work... Does it work in yours?

It is very interesting. Change the speed of wiper depending on the intensity of the rain.
This past weekend I made a long trip and was constantly raining, I put the stalk in the first position and this automatically varied wiper speed. It's okay to be able to quietly take out boogers with the right hand ...

Isn't that the same thing the rainsensor does?

Right so tonight I went down to see a guy who could do the Vagcom stuff for me.

Managed to get:

celebration mode working
1 click unlocks all doors
anti-hijack

however XDS and welcome home lights wouldn't work.

He said he couldn't find the XDS modules at all so either I don't have them or it's just not there. Is there something that maybe we missed?

For the coming home lights, we enabled it for the FOGS however when we tried it nothing happened! It doesn't work... so again is there something we missed?

Do you not have to pull the light stalk back before getting out the car for the coming home lights to work?

The coming home lights only work if you pull the headlights once when you have taken the keys out of the ignition

I was under the impression that the XDS was only available on GTI's as the other models don't have the electronic diff lock?

XDS is a feature of the ABS unit, so if the pump supports it then it can be enabled

No. When you put the stalk in the first position can regulate (small lever) activation sensitivity with which the wiper works, but always at the same sweep speed. However, to enable bit 7 sweep speed depends on the rain intensity.

It's fantastic, more water, faster ... automatically. Thus it is not necessary to go to the second or third position of the stalk.

Right.. so if i go to my car now and start the car... then turn it off, take the ignition out and pull the headlight stalk once.. should it work? I dont need vagcom connected still do i? Cos the guy has enabled it but couldn't get it to work but of course i asked him to leave it enabled.
