Hi Im New!! - Horn works!!

Hi guys iv recently joined the forum so thought id introduce myself and show you my car.
Had the car for about 2 weeks now and loving it more everyday, its totally standard at the moment but hoping to add my own touches to it soon as well as fixing the odd bits here an there. the main thing is the horn doesn't work I had a quick search through on here an saw it could be the fuse for the headlight washers seems weird but I checked all the fuses anyway an nothing is wrong there, if anybody could help me on this I would really appreciate it

Welcome along, is your horn fitted? It's down behind the nearside foglamp iirc, you could stick a multimeter on the plug connection whilst someone operates the horn to see if you have 12 volts down there. It could just be the horn itself if the headlight washers work, as you say, it is a shared fuse.

No the wheels were already on the car when I bought it, tbh im not too sure if I like them lol.
as for the horn iv not been able to get underneath it properly to check it but ill do that when im back at work cos I can use the ramp haha thanks

Quick update on the horn, I checked the plug connections (well my workmate did, I did the pressing of the horn) and im getting the 12v so I take it that it must be the horn then. gonna hunt one down asap lol thanks for the help an ill keep u posted

Another update....

The replacement horns arrived today, fitted and working as they should so thanks for the help on that one guys also got myself a replacement aeriel gasket as the original was missing just need to figure out why the interior light doesnt work when the doors are opened now and shell be basically sorted. Dont suppose anyow would have an idea on that one would they? The light comes on when u switch it on from inside but doesnt when u open any of the doors.

Thanks to be honest Im not sure if I like them or not really gonna lower it first an add some spacers to bring them out a bit an see what I think then , and I found out the problem with the light...if I wiggle the lense it flickers on and off so thinking I need to replace the light unit maybe but its working at the moment so Ill leave it till it gets too annoying lol

Hi guys just an update on the progress of my gti. I finally fitted coilovers so she looks a lot better now stuck with ideas on what to do next though haha
