Does it give you the actual build week or does the dealership ?

I had to ask my dealer, they also e-mailed today to say the car should be with them in 3 weeks so the shipping time is pretty long!

i see, well 3 weeks to get to them then they have to make the plates tax it and perform the PDI so could be 4 before you get it ? :/

Yeah I'm guessing at 4 weeks too...I'll be honest, comparing my wife's experience when buying her Volvo and mine buying the Polo are two different kettles of fish, Volvo were way more on the ball with the car spec and information, and accurate delivery times the day we ordered. I knew more about the Polo than the sales staff...

I totally agree nry. There are 4 VW retailers around my area and the sales guys knowledge in all of them was shocking.

I ordered from a retailer 60 miles away through drivethedeal in the end because the discount offered was huge..

Once ordered I was unsure on the colour, Nimbus Grey or Pure White. So I head back down to my local retailer to see the colours face to face.. So I'm looking round and I'm approached by a salesman who asks 'is there anything I can help you with, Sir?' So I say 'Yes I am wondering if you have the new polo in to have a look at?' and his reply was 'oh no the order books don't open till 1st July for that model' at which point I chuckled to myself as I had ordered one 3 days ago, and had an order number..

So I told him this and his face was a picture, and I left.

Just a heads up - if your after some truthful information and progress of your order once built and in transit, phone VW UK customer service. They are very good and they have even better systems than the retailers. One guy told me exactly were it was and when it was due to arrive at Emden, what ship it was going on and it's ETA in to Grimbsy. Top service.

Yeah i know what you mean about knowing more than the salesman, when i ordered mine it was through an Ex colleague and we sat down and discussed what i wanted on the car and stuff like that. and i said does the paddle shift work well in this car? and he goes "erm tbh mate didn't know it was in that car, is it an optional extra?" and i laughed and went "sorry bud have we swapped shoes a second, i know more about this polo than you!" but i'll let him off as he's the guy who makes up the finance deals so isn't really selling cars.

Hi, am a returning member, I used to have a 9n3 GTi.

I ordered the Blue GT back in May, put down delivery for Sept.

I am curious as to what the actual steering looks like...any ideas?

It makes you wonder...the online status of my order still says Shipped, but yesterday it stated that cars of my model take 3 weeks to reach the UK, today is says they take 10 days :)

Time will tell...the handbrake cable snapped on my current car this morning so the new owner will be getting a new handbrake cable pre-fitted...less 'profit' for me though...needs a new windscreen too as the current one is cracked.

The Vw Tracker is very intermittent, the other day it didn't even recognize my tracking number!
@nry when was your build week for your car? mine is week 30 which is 20-26 July so maybe mid August for me ? Hmm

Mine was build week 25, so it could well be here within the week, just depends on the PDI from the dealer :)

I see so based you both of your build weeks, mine should be early August.
Hopefuly i'll be working at Audi in the next few weeks ( i done my apprenticeship there and left this March ) and the VW dealer is attached to Audi dealer so i can nag them to get it ready quicker haha!
Is this your first new car order from the factory ?
