6R / 6C Wind Deflectors

Post by alanblakey1 »

Looking into using some on a 3 door, Would be great to know if anyone has used them before and if you found them to be of benefit.

If so where the hell did you get them?! Absolute minefield out there!!

Cheers,
Al

Hiya,

I had them on my old car & first thing i brought for my polo. I generally think they work, its not as windy when got the windows open, and the rain doesnt come in if you have them slightly open. Plus I think they look good too!

Oh & I got mine off eBay.

I looked into getting some last year but never got round to actually getting any. From what little research I did there appears to be two main manufacturers ClimAir and Heko.

ClimAir, have there own website and if you have a look on YouTube there are loads of little installation guides. Form what I can see they don't need to have any special clips fitted into the window channels that might potentially damage the rubber or paintwork during fitting. They have deflectors for 3 & 5 door Polo's. Actually they have something for just about every car/van. They should be good quality as they are T.U.V. approved. I'm not sure how dark the tint is.

5 door £33.16 Front - £24.79 Rear
3 door £33.16

Heko, are the one's you tend to see more commonly. They also have their own website and have a huge range of fitments.(there are tons on Ebay) They appear to be held in place by a combination of sticky pads and metal retaining clips. Personally I find this slightly off putting as there is potential to damage the rubber seals around the window or paintwork. Again Youtube is you friend with various fitting guides. Thie tint on theses is pretty dark.

5 door 33.90 Euros
3 door 31.90 Euros

G3 also manufacture them but I've never seen any in the flesh. You can get those from 'Micksgarage' they also have fitting instructions on Youtube. Not sure about price.

I'm sure if you spend some time with Google/Ebay you may find them a little cheaper or locally.

I've got Heko ones on my Polo, and they look great and do work, and are especially great on hot days, I just leave the window open a crack and it does the trick. They do, however, create a little more noise on motorways.

I'd have them on every car I own in the future.

Climair here. Just slot in. I found mine on Amazon.

My main bugbear was getting a wet shoulder if it had been raining and I turned a corner. That was instantly solved. Having the window open up to a couple of inches with no rain getting in is great.

Thanks again guys for all the advice and pictures posted. Been a massive help!

I'm going to keep well away from anything that involved nasty metal clips etc. Going to work on this and get something ordered soon as I think they really compliment the car.

Again,
Big thanks for your help.

I have the Heko deflectors which are supplied with metal clips but they were not required as the fit is really good and solid without them. Also prefer the look of them over the ClimAir ones.
