Nice People - NOT!!!!

Post by bstardchild »

Was woken by a car alarm going off at about 1am and hearing what semed to be a girl and a boy laughing - got up and had a look outside it was a neighbours car alarm going off - I thought stupid kids have banged on a window and set the alarm off........ No one else about whoever had set it off were long gone.....

Went back to sleep

Got up this morning to wash the Coupe S prior to the new owner taking ownership in exchange for £360 and thought I'll wash the 1.4 CL as well - lets face it it's at least 2 days since I last did it.....

Washed roof and windows and was horrified to notice some footprints on the roof - however the dent on the bonnet really ticked me off.......

It appears that the pavements weren't good enough for whoever walked through the close last night - and 3 cars including mine got in the way.

HANGING IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THESE PEOPLE!!!!

theres no need for that.....

s'like i can kind of understand why a thief would tax your stereo etc, but whats the point!!!

thought i might be able to help you out though...... would you like a brand new bonnet? i bought one with the intent of getting it extended, then decided to sell the polo, so its now siting in my back garden!

What is the world coming to?
These stupid people can walk around doing whatever they like to peoples property but the first time u catch one in the act and paste him to within an inch of his life her majesty’s constabulary would be down on yer like a ton of bricks.

I feel sorry for you mate :-(

Hopefully the bonnet should just pop back if you apply enough pressure from the other side. But then again you shouldn't have needed to do this in the first place.

Thing is if you catch them doing it and give em a hiding they know where you live.

Its the society in which we live in today i'm afraid.

first reaction would be to cave their heads in - but that wouldnt be much of an improvement on their own behaviour. i dont know what the right answer is, but keeping a pot full of underseal or other nasty stuff near the front door to throw all over them (hey, at least it comes off... with white spirit ) and a mind towards vigilance for that kind of thing maybe.......

forewarned is forearmed so at least you've shared with us for the greater good :(

going to have an eye on the window next time i hear drunken laughter and funny noises passing by... and a tyre iron by the bed

I will definately be interested in that bonnet - had to wait around this morning for scenes of crime to turn up and take pics of footprints and taped copies of all three cars - hey I was impressed they turned up!!!!

Then a quick chat with the insurance company and an even quicker decision not to claim

Finally a sod it lets see if I can make it look a bit better and I have - sure it's not perfect but it is better...... I'll post some pics early next week gotta be out tommorrow......

Thanks for the advice Des - It needed a bit more than a push but it's looking a lot better now..... It was right on the crease line but hadn't broken the paint and still hasn't now so hopefully it can wait till I get hold of another bonnet and bribe my local spray shop to stick a bit of paint on it as well as a few other bits arount the car and tidy it all up in one go......

I was annoyed about the whole thing on one hand but gratefull on the other as there are 5 other cars on the driveway they could have walked over - The LC was there with 2 Senator 24v's, Carlton Estate 3.0 CDX and my old Polo Coupe S but they just decided my little 1.4 CL was the best target

PS Apologies if I don't thank you all for you messages of sympathy but they are appreciated - I know I'm one of the "oldies" on the forum but it is so nice to see youngsters with a real passion for cars and not hard drugs!!!

Idiots like that really do make me sick... it's like merstham_phil said, you can kinda understand if someone pinches your stuff, thievings gits though they may be, but mindless vandalism just doesn't benefit anyone, it's pathetic..

Good luck getting it all fixed up.. shame it's not worth claiming on the insurance. Sometimes I don't really see the point in paying for comprehensive insurance if they punish you for actually making use of the service you've paid for..
