VCDS coding question

Hello all,
My VAGCOM cable arrived 2 days ago and so far it's been really good at enabling the functions I want. I have no problems in the coding and adaptation of Central Electronics module. However, when I tried to enable needle sweep/staging, fuel quantity display and lap timer functions, the long coding helper says that the coding is accepted, but it reverts back after I click OK. What could be causing this? I tried resetting the instrument cluster settings from the infotainment but that didn't work.
Also my car came with footwell lights from the factory, but in the car settings, I don't have the option to enable/disable them, or set the brightness; they just come on with the interior lights and come off when all doors are closed. Is there a way to get those options in the infotainment system?
