Engine Mis Fire
Engine Mis Fire
My son has a 6n2 1l it has now got these error codes 16684-mis fire any cyl. 16685- mis fire cyl 1 16686-mis fire cyl 2. Am thinking of changing the HT leads as they look rough. Can any one suggest any other causes for these codes and even better the remedies for these, thanks so much

Re: Engine Mis Fire
Hi mate
I recently purchased my polo 1.2 and within two weeks had misfire problems. Green flag came out and computer read misfire cylinder 1. Replaced coil and car was running fine for 2 days. Same problem occurred when I broke down again, always when the car was idling at lights. To cut a long story short and hours of research on forums I found out these 3 cylinder models are VW's problem engines. I took the car to a mechanic and he did a compression test on the valves. Cylinder one was not holding compression. Needed new cylinders, chain, etc. it's a late post but hope you don't get ripped off at a VW garage as I was quoted £1800 not worth keeping at that price. Local guy did everything for £600.
