6c GTI intake size

Post by Timmsy »

So I'm looking to build my own induction kit for my 6c (still waiting for it to arrive)
So i'd like to know if someone can measure the OD of the intake pipe as I believe I'm going to need a reducer.

I know there has been some made off the shelf and on FB however I want it to be furthwr way from the engine and more behind the front light to stop heat soak

I'll let you know tomorrow when my intake kit gets delivered. Seems that any intake at all is a big improvement on standard though, all of them I've seen are seeing 10-15bhp increase, heat soak or not. Standard must be very restrictive.
Fair play to you though for trying to build your own! 8)

Cheers dude.

Yeah, I mean I do really like the one that's been made on FB and it's a very good price bit seeing as there is so much space where a battery would normally be I'm going to take full advantage of it.

Also got a metal fabricator near work so might be able to produce a heat shield for it too.

What group on FB is that one? Am looking for an intake myself so would be interested to have a look!
