Polo 6C BiXenon Retrofit
Hello!
I decided to make a new topic ( hoping that it would -- maybe -- get more attention ) after reading ciclo's thread regarding this. I basically dream of having BiXenon installed on my car ... therefore I went on and bought the following:
- OEM BiXenon headlights :: 6R1941031D & 6R1941032D
- Halogen to Xenon conversion wiring :: https://www.kufatec.de/shop/en/Volkswag ... VW-Polo-6R
- Autoleveling kit ( from kufatec ) :: https://www.kufatec.de/shop/en/volkswag ... vw-polo-6r
I've bought and installed a new OEM front bumper with headlight washers, bought the whole washer system with the new cannister, secondary pump, hoses and washers.
Installed all of them ( just not the wiring, as I'm not sure what goes where )
For the time being I would be thankful to only get the headlights working .. without AFS or Auto-Leveling as I know that might require a new BCM
My car's VIN is WVWZZZ6RZFY146XXX and an autoscan can be found here: https://pastebin.com/HN6Vk5Be
Please advise if you guys need any info from me ... thanks!

So he is LHD
AFS will work on all bcms, the bcm controls lighting for the LED DRL and xenon. That's why sometimes it needs upgrade

Furthermore I'd like you to ask to keep it in one topic. This way all information is on one location. That makes it a lot easier for everyone

Re: Polo 6C BiXenon DIY Help.
Regarding keeping stuff in one topic, I can only agree. Though i figured it’s best to just make a separate topic on my issue hoping it would get in someone’s way hehe.
By any chance can you PM me with ciclo’s email, or maybe nudge him directly so he can take a look as well ? Hopefully he’s interested in a side project like this or maybe he has any friends who might have dealt wih this ... I can only hope
And yes, I am a Romanian ( LHD here ).
Best regards!

I will not send you his email. From what I've heard, he's busy enough as it is and whenever he can help, I'm sure he'll answer in the topic.

Re: Polo 6C BiXenon Retrofit
OK so, after 2 months of research and getting better at retrofiting ( ) I've figured out how I can ( finally ) fully retrofit the AFS / BiXenon on my own ( of course, with the knowledge acquired from many, like DV25, iichel, ciclo ( big thanks for the car's diagrams )
Basically, I just bought 2 T14 connectors and some terminals, since there are no new cables that I'm aware of, needed. ( aside AFS as I'm not detailing that now )
So, I went on and split the following:
- 5 to 5 and 7 ( groundings )
- 6 to 6 ( main beam )
- 8 to 11 ( dip beam screen motor ) Though I guess this is not needed since AFS is taking control of headlights ?
- 9 to 9 ( turn signal )
Then it's 3 more slots towards which I redirected the cables from the front bumper as follows:
- 10 <- DRL ( got the DRL wire from the bumper )
- 12 <- Side light ( also known as parking light ) - got the "old" wire from the 10 pin connector, as it had parking lights under PIN 10
- 14 <- Static Cornering ( got the fog lights cable -- which also acts as cornering in my case )
Did the coding to change from Halogen to Xenon with AFS, also changed Low beam bulb type to HID instead H7 ( under byte 5 ), so we got:
-- low / high beams working ( shutter )
-- static cornering lights into the headlight
The only issue is, DRL does not work ... I know the LED module within the headlight gets PIN 10 ( normal DRL from bumper ) and PIN 12 ( former side light ) but ... I still get errors in the dashboard regarding the lack of DRL and Side lights ( on both sides ).
QUESTIONS:
1. Are there other changes/codings I need to do ? I'm sure there is no cable issue since it was just a matter of rearranging the cables on the connector end, nothing changed BCM side.
2. Since the static cornering lights are active via the fog lights, I connected these to the headlight. Is it supposed to work like this ? ( having static cornering and fog lights inside the headlight ? ). Or is there some setting to separate there two. Didn't see "different" slots in the BCM terminals but there is some confusion in the schema.
Basically, the static cornering lights show t46b/7 and t46b/42 as connectors, but these are for Right / Left headlight main beam bulb -M30-, terminal 56a. So I guess .. there must be a setting to separate cornering from fog lights, so then I can have the fog lights, separate, in the front bumper ? ( made wiring for that as well ).
OLD ( 10 PIN connector schema ): https://i.imgur.com/2w2GLox.png
NEW ( 14 PIN connector schema ) : https://i.imgur.com/aDgbvk7.png
I'll test the cables from the DRL for voltage and see what they get .. maybe something's wrong there. Any way I can test the LED module ?
Thanks for taking time to do such a long read ..

Did you fit the dayrunning light pins in the T46B slot 6 and 43?

Re: Polo 6C BiXenon Retrofit
I just routed the DRL wires from the bumper to T14/10, so I'm sure the wires are fine .. then I've placed the parking light ( from old headlight ) into T14/12 ... so I'm not sure if the DRLs should work just like that, or need some kind of coding ?

Re: Polo 6C BiXenon Retrofit
By any chance, you guys out there who went from halogen to xenon, did you have to do any adaptation channels coding in order to get the DRL working ? Given the old parking light is such a small consumer, I tend to think adaptation channels might need some change to the "load_type" ( watts ) on that wire ?
Please let me know as my DRLs are not working just by plugging the old wires in.

Hello,
I have Sharan 7n 2011 and i need to retrofit from Halogen to Bi-xenon , I have both the OE Bi-xenon and both a wires from KUFATEC
I have made some coding and the Low and High beam are working fine , the DRL led is not working at all
Any advice , thanks in advance

Byte 11 to D1
Byte 21 bit 0 set to 1
Byte 22 bit 4 set to 1
Byte 23 to 41
Don't now what bcm is in a Sharan 7n.

Re: Polo 6C BiXenon Retrofit
Probably 5K0 BCM so not even remotely related to the Polo
