Polo R Line 1.0Tsi - MPG
So we have had our car about a year......not that impressed with the mpg... we get about 40 , what are others experience with this engine ? Last fill up was 36mpg overall. We get about 55 on a run , but nowhere near the quoted manufacturers mpg , now there's a surprise !

That doesn't sound too far off. Don't be fooled by quoted MPG figures. Manufacturers test under ideal conditions.
With my 2016 1.4 TDi I have to drive very carefully to maintain 75MPG+. Manufacturer's quoted 83-90MPG or so.

I collected my 1.0Tsi SEL in September 16. Have done 17000 miles - 80 mile round trip a day of which 70 is motorway. North-south M5 run. With adaptive cruise control always on I get 49-52mpg per tank calculated from full-full. I struggle to get higher than that - sometimes creep into the high 50s if doing long runs at 60 on A roads (n.b. I have a Racechip Pro 2 fitted - previously I was getting 46-49mpg).
