Re: My New POLO GT
You wont believe the cost of a arm rest for the BLUEGT, popped into VW to get price and availability....
£500+ not including labour to fit the thing, how can they justify that amount of money for something you rest your arm on and store small items in, absolute joke!!
Anyone know the best place to get one from? I've looked on eBay however I'm worried that its going to arrive and not fit nicely....
Thanks

Re: My New POLO GT
Either of these should be fine:
https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vw-Polo-6r-fro ... OSwL-tbK3V~
https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Volksw ... SwAYtWQXVT
I bought the one from Australia and it was spot on when it turned up only thing is it is quite a big job as you have to remove the lower part of the centre console, trim around the gearstick etc to get in the mount.

Re: My New POLO GT
Other forum members have bought and fitted non OEM armrests and they’ve fitted fine. Seem to remember a forum member posting a write up of the installation procedure, including pictures. If you use the forum search function, you should be able to find the relevant post.
I personally wouldn’t want one. IMO they’re quite a poor design as when they’re in the horizonal position, they hinder access to the handbrake. I’ve seen owners with the armrest push them into the vertical position out of the way between the back rests of the front seats, so they effectively become redundant.

What’s the figures did it make buddy?peter_dk25 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 27, 2018 9:23 amTry this: https://www.racechip.de/gaspedal-tuning/xlr.htmlMike Austin wrote: ↑Tue Jun 26, 2018 11:02 pmI am also happy with the standard power of my Blue GT. However, what I would like is more instantaneous throttle response. Stepping on the gas, there always seems to be a delay on 'modern' cars of maybe a second or so before the power comes in. I found this delay on the Fabia Mk2, tsi and vrs models. But my old 2.0i Fabia Mk1 had instant response. Any recommendations?
You won't be disappointed - I have it in my Blue GT - BIG difference.

Hmm. If you have good experience with it, I cannot argue with that. However, I am a bit sceptical whether it will do what I want.peter_dk25 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 27, 2018 9:23 amTry this: https://www.racechip.de/gaspedal-tuning/xlr.htmlMike Austin wrote: ↑Tue Jun 26, 2018 11:02 pm I am also happy with the standard power of my Blue GT. The problem that I want to solve is that, when I give the pedal 100%, there is a delay of up to one second before 100% gas is provided. The figure on this page just seems to be a recalibration of the pedal movement with the gas provided. There is no mention of addressing any delay. For example, in race mode you get 50% gas at 15% pedal. Fine. What about any delay before that arrives? Unless curing this delay is part of the specification (and it only mentions "Direktere Gasannahme" without any figures) this is unlikely to work for me.

Re: My New POLO GT
It totally eliminates the delay you are referring to!

Re: My New POLO GT
Did you fit it yourself? Which one did you go for? I see there are 3 options for the Blue GT.

Straight fit - 10 min work - that's it.

I clicked the 'continue in the shop button', put in make, model and engine and got three choices:

Ok - but that's the chiptuning boxes - not the Gas pedal Tuning unit

Re: My New POLO GT
Hi Peter_dk
Just a quick one. Which BGT do you have the 140 or 150hp and is your DSG the DQ200?
Edit: Also how long have you currently had the unit fitted?

Re: My New POLO GT
No matter how I try to select the accelerator tuning, it comes up with the chip tuning. Also on the UK site: https://www.racechip.co.uk/throttle-tuning/xlr.html and the global site: https://www.racechip.com/throttle-tuning/xlr.htmlpeter_dk25 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 28, 2018 4:04 pm Ok - but that's the chiptuning boxes - not the Gas pedal Tuning unit
Could it be that accelerator chip and tuning chip are now combined and you have an earlier version of the accelerator chip by itself?
